LinkedIn announced today that they will be rolling out some new features in the Groups section of the platform over the next week. LinkedIn Groups are an effective way to make deeper connections and share knowledge specific to your industry or areas of interest. These changes are part of a larger move to help professionals connect and share content and ideas more easily within the platform.
The added Groups feature includes:
- An enhanced, more user-friendly interface
- Roll-over profile pictures of recent participants to view comments or click to view their profile information
- Ability to Like conversations or comments
- Carousel of conversations that is populated by most recent and most popular topics
One of the most exciting new features is the Top Influencers section. Each week, the most active Group members starting or commenting on conversations will be featured in a section of the Group Page. Influencers will be featured based on the frequency and popularity of their topics or comments. The potential for being singled out as an important participant amongst one’s peers is a powerful motivation that will no doubt engender more frequent and richer information exchange.
LinkedIn is making it easy for members to build solid career connections, establish themselves as knowledge leaders and gain valuable insight from other thought leaders and influencers in their industry.
